Kitchen Aid Timer needed KDS 19

As some of you may already know, I have a KitchenAid KDS-19 Machine which I love(or did till it died).

I am in need of a timer for this machine and was wondering if anyone would have one or a machine that's ready to be parted out.

There were 3 different part numbers used for the timer:
241208, 241213 and 4162557. They are stamped with "KDS19" on them and have two motors on it.

I tried to locate one or have mine rebuilt at Midwest Timer Service, but the owner sadly informed me that they had destroyed all the parts for most of the timers they used to build a short time ago.

So if anyone has a timer that matches, even if the motors are bad, I may be willing to buy or trade for it. If you should also have the complete wiring harness for the unit, that would be even better.

I am also not averse to going to an imperial model as long as I get the control panel and buttons etc for it or even a KDS20 timer, harness front control panel and switches.

BTW.. I have a brand new KDS18 timer in the box if anyone needs it.. Let me know

Sorry to to hear you can't locate the timer for the KDS-19
My mother had the same machine for 25 years (it was a real tank) Good luck in getting a new timer. Keep us posted.

Wishing and hoping!

Peter, I am hoping someone in this group manages to come thru with a timer for me. I have even checked out some of the local repair shops to see if they had old stock hanging around but to no avail.

I like the machine because it does the preheating of the water for the first prewash as well as a sani rinse @ 180 degrees in every cycle except rinse and hold and the fast wash/no dry cycle.

Best of all, I converted it to a hot air dryer because I disliked the no heat dry and when this machine is done drying, there isn't a drop of water or moisture left on anything!

I will let you all know what happens. Now I am regretting tossing out a brand new timer I had for that model maybe 15 years ago thinking I would never have a machine like it nor even wanted one! What A fool I was!

Hi Steve,
The heated water in the 1st and last rinse was 150 not 180
How did you ever convert the machine to do a heated dry?
My mother used to use the jet dry and than everything would dry if not things would come out wet.

Hi Steve! I will take the model numbers to the warehouse as I have about 6 cases of new and rebuilt KA dishwasher timers. I'm sure that I have one, but I'm not going back to the warehouse until next Friday. I will let you know as soon as I take a look. Mark

I'm shocked that Midwest Timer didn't have this! I just ordered a timer for my 1970 Maytag convertible dishwasher only two weeks ago and they didn't have it ready to send, I had to wait a couple of extra days while they finished one they had in stock. I think someone there didn't know what they were doing! I'd try them back again with the original part number for the timer...

Contact Appliance Parts Company (775-348-9090) in Reno NV. If they don't have the part on hand, they put it into a database that will scour the entire county for it. They were able to find me a new control switch for my 1964 Maytag DE-750 pushbutton dryer (I was missing the buttons on mine and the buttons are not available separately for that year and model). If they can find that EXTREMELY rare part, they can easily find you that timer!!

Hey everyone...there is a timer company in Palm Bay, Florida. I cannot remember the name of it, but I think some members here have used it in the past. Does anyone know the name of it for Steve? That's only a couple of hours or so from where he lives!! I thought it began with an "R".

Hey there, Mr Gansky.. Palm Bay is only 100 miles south of me and I am actually down there doing service calls from time to time.I will put the timer in the truck and give them a shot too if all other leads strike out.

This whole project is an obsessive compulsive one as I hate to give the machine up!
