Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

That access panel is almost as big as the door panel. What's behind that thing.. the Hobart factory itself?
And am I correct in thinking that the Utility and Utensil cycle was the early version of a Pots-n-Pans cycle?

I don't think the Utility cycle dried the dishes.

I think the idea was this cycle would loosen the soil on tough to clean items and when it was finished you would take out the item and finish cleaning it by hand. At least that's how I remember it.

That would be a fun machine to check out but not at $500.

I've always wanted one of these, but not at that price. Every other relative had this model in the early Sixties; it was the most common "First Dishwasher". I remember having the same reaction to how small I thought the tank was in relation to the lower panel. Everybody loved them though.

Where did they store that thing? It looks like it has been sitting in a garage for centuries.

Thanks for my laugh of the day. It's really true you know. That panel is huge!

For 500 bucks they could at least clean the grime and gunk off the poor thing.Yes-just what is behind that huge lower cover-a complete apartment? They should give a money shot of both the inside washing compartment and what is behind that lower cover. For the $500 inquiring minds want to know.
