KitchenAid gold seal washer motors
This was mostly a marketing term. They did not have gold bearings that would be ridiculous. Gold too soft.
Some of the KitchenAid motors did have copper start windings instead of aluminum so they were slightly better motors in theory, but they were completely interchangeable with the whirlpool versions.
Motor bearings were a big problem on direct drive washers. The front bearing often failed and you had to replace the motor when it would get some in it. It would no longer run.
As I said, in another post, use the All plastic coupler if you care about your motor shaft, the only reason the motor shaft wears and fails was because of the couplers that had a metal insert. The plastic would never damage the motor.shaft The wear on the Motors shaft had nothing to do with running at a lower speed for agitation.
