KA laundry debuted circa 1987 and ended sometime in the mid/late 2000s after WP bought Maytag in 2006. All topload washers are direct-drive. There was also a ThinTwin stacked set. Two frontload pairs ... the Ensemble which is a Duet clone (and segued into the Maytag Epic), and the Proline set which is a Duet clone washer but the dryer is sourced from ADC.
The initial offerings were the "900" toploader pair with fully-electronic controls, and the "800" pair with pushbutton rapid-advance-timer controls. A rotary-control "700" pair was added for the 2nd-generation models.
