So tonight I saw a black and chrome KitchenAid Ultra Power blender at Goodwill. Only $6. It was sitting at the testing area, and often I find appliances left there. You have to turn a dial timer in order to power the outlets. I guess they do this for safety reasons. It makes me wonder if people plug something in and don't realize the timer is there, so they think the item doesn't work, since I often see things sitting on that counter.
Anyway, I already have a KitchenAid Ultra Power I got on eBay last summer. But it has the white on white color scheme. Which is ok, but the plastic jar collar is a bit yellowed, and I think it just looks kind of outdated, the black one looks a lot more modern even though it's probably the same age range. Especially since most smalls these days come in stainless or black or some color other than white.
So I was tempted to get this, and I tried it out. I found it does need a new drive coupling, as the gear teeth were all broken. But those are on eBay still for these.
I just surprised it was so cheap, because whenever I see KitchenAid MIXERS at thrift stores they want upward of $40-$80.
