Suspect it's one of those with really only two heat temperatures on the multi-position Fabric selector.
Cotton/Sturdy, Permanent Press, and Touch Up = High
Knit and Delicate = Low
Glenn, if this is a true LK, then it had a medium temperature too. That was the "exclusive" feature for LKs of this period. After these center dial Kenmores came out, they stripped pretty much all features on their dryers. Temps were only air, low/delicate, high/cotton sturdy. The LK was the only one that offered medium. And, this was an early version because it had 4 auxiliary knobs--temp, signal, start, and wrinkle guard off/on. The next version of the mechanical LK model had only 3 aux knobs. Did away with the WG on/off knob. This was the only dryer in all the years of center dial Kenmores that I found acceptable. All other models had cheapened features as far as I was concerned. Lesser model dryers with the same temperature switch arrangement did only offer low/delicate, air, and regular heat temps.
My DD LK dryer didn't offer a Wrinkle Guard on/off knob. And when comparing that dryer to the one above, I was very disappointed. I hated having to get up go out to the dryer and either turn the timer dial to off or open/shut the door to cancel Wrinkle Guard. Really p'ed me off.

Kenmore did weirdness with features for a while in the late 70s / early 80s.
Soft heat was not available on this unit?

The true modulated input Soft Heat systems disappeared around 1969-70 although Sears continued house the SH name on some dryer models.

Larry, John is correct. But SH phenomenon became as the timer approached cool down, a few minutes before cool down was actually entered, there was a small notch that shifted the heat to low from whatever drying temperature was being used. Was the case for a 1976 center dial Series 70 Kenmore pair my parents bought for a vacation home as well as my 1986 LK DD pair.
I need to read up on this model through one of my Sears Catalog.
I just find it so strange that this TOL was exempt.
