Does anyone on this board have any Landsend Towels? I have always had good luck with Landsend clothing. Now, I find myself ready to buy towels and I want some better quality towels for everyday use.

The last towels I bought were expensive and were marked down 80% off as the store was closing. They have lasted 8 years. And in this household, we get a fresh towel for each shower. So, that is a lot of use. Since, I will never find another deal like this again, I decided to spend some money and get some top quality towels.

Any input is appreciated...

Malcolm

I honestly think that all towels are made by one or two manufactures at the most.
I think you will have good luck if they "feel" good before a wash. You can feel the quality.
JC Penny's towels are very nice.
I wish I could get some of those free gift cards that have been floating around here! Get me some free towels!

Funny you should bring this up

I've had a set of Land's End towels that have lasted me over 20 years! I really should replace them, but I actually like towels as they get less plush through wear. Only complaint: they were a couple of inches shy of Fieldcrest dimensions on lenght and width. Not a big deal, and I imagine they've addressed that. If I were buying new towels right now, I would take a serious look at the inventory in a local Home Goods store. Amazing what they have and the prices. Unless you're like my Mom where all the towels should be the same brand to match.

TJ Maxx

I went and bought some new towels at TJ Maxx.Do you have one where you live,or Marshalls? They sell all kinds of really good things at a discount. Bobby

Hotel Towels

Malcolm, Also try the Hotel Towels at Macy's if you have one in your area. They are really great, made of soft microfiber cotton, The ends are sewn very well, and so are the washcloths. I have them over 2 years and they look like new. A clean towel and wash cloth for every shower in our household also.

I have used bath sheets (36" X 72") since 1970 and usually bought Fieldcrest or Martex when they went on sale. I was needing some new ones and thought I'd look on eBay. I found a dozen white 38" X 78" for $60 plus $12 shipping or $7.00 per towel. Each bath sheet weighs 2.5 pounds. They are luxury hotel bath sheets and very well made. They are so thick that where I always used a fresh towel every day, I can now use one side and then use the next side the following day. Because of the thickness, the unused side does not get damp when the other side is being used. That means half the laundering of towels. Three of them are a full load in the Miele W1986, but that's 6 days of use. My other bath sheets were washed 4 in a load.

I recently bought Thomas O'Brien towels at Target that I like. Be sure to get the "thicker" variety. There are also some thin versions that are crap. One towel developed lint in the first wash and never recovered.

Hotel Collection

I have looked at the Hotel collection at Macy's in the past. I don't get to Macy's very often cause, I guess, I'm a male.

Next time I am in the area, I will check them out again.

I was also told that the Biltmore towels at Belk are a good brand too.

Malcolm. I also heard that the Biltmore towels are great too,.

Have to say that the Hotel ones have not shown any sign of wear in over 2 years. Jc PenneY towels are great too.

Malcolm

Forgot about Belk and their towels. Our paper today has the Penney's ad and starting tomorrow they have all towels on sale the ones we like are the HOME series and here they are $4.99 on sale.
