Washer!!

With Tumble-Brook Action!

Went to a play, they had one on stage as a prop, after the show went up to take a closer look at it and could just make out a silver "Coronado" on the black backsplash ! I was flabbergasted! Very rare machine!

It was twice the size of the Westinghouse slant front and the tub was twice the size of the Westy combo tub. And it had "babbling brook action" where the whole load tumbles once to get saturated and then sat at the bottom of the tub in wash water and was bubbled clean, with poweful bubbling jets- no tumbling.

It was billed as "The gentlest wash action in the world, like your clothes babbled down a brook"!

They were breaking the set and putting it out on the curb so I ralleyed up my troops in their evening attire and we drove around back, (a few tense moments getting around the theater block before someone else beat me too it!) and hoisted it in my truck!

What a dream machine!

well...you never know.
The night of the day that I first stepped in a local laundromat and saw those 3 phase Wascomat W-184's with SS fronts, I had a dream about the owner replacing them with newer machines. I happened to be driving by as one of the machines was being wheeled out. I make a crazy maneuver over to the mat, ask the owner, and 35 min later there is a traffic jam as a result of me pushing one of these big machines home in the street with a vending machine dolley.

Turns out...I got a Wasco 184 model that is a little better than the W series, with the SS front and everything. One of the FL series machines. So, you never know Jon. Keep looking hard and you will get your machine!! And when you do, it's a very priceless, rewarding experience!

Well

Gene I think my mind was combining an ad I saw once where they compared their machine to a brook! I think it was a Westinghouse ad ,but it might have been Bendix and ofcourse Gansky's Westy combo got thrown in there somewhere too.

All I had was hamburger beans and rice!

Melvin a dream machine is always a pleasure thats for sure, but making friends in evening attire hoist up a machine well thanks heavens it was a dream!

Ok:
somewhere ~2002-2003, I had a dream that someone dropped off 2 Kenmore Calypso washers, and a Kenmore Catalyst washer. That was the time when both models still happened to be on Sears showroom floor, I did not know what I know about the Calypso. Since then, Several Calypsos have come through and ONLY one Catalyst washer. The Catalyst washer I still have.

Odd Laundry Dreams

Over the years, I've had a few....

In one, we were at the pool with a giant GE ramp agitator in it (not moving thank god!) and the pool was shaped like the GE lid openning... That's all I remember about that one

The second one every rode multi colored Hoover twin tubs around the city like cars. I also invented a the matching dryer in that dream (long before I even knew that one actually existed!) and sketched it out. I still have the drawing.

Sometimes you feel like a nut...

weird but true

Last week I had a washer dream in the middle of the night, and I thought, Oh I should take this right to Aworg, but on morning wake-up it was gone, but you were here with yours. Dumbstruck!--me

Worse, when I read your post, the thread title not registering, I was swooning for this washer with the bubbling water jets, thinking it real. What a treat to imagine seeing this fabulous machine some day. DRAT! It's a dream. You'll have to make us one, Jon, when you retire.

But I did have a daydream in the mid 60's after becoming attached to the Custom Imperial Copper Rollermatic, attending to it like new puppy. In bed, awake, the machine's 4 jets gently squirting on "Delicate" outside my bedroom, I thought of how wonderful it would be if the water shot in from multiple jets mounted around the tub, lots of them, flushing in like small garden hoses, and they were shooting in during the spin, an orgy of water turbulence.

Years later, my jaw fell off when I watched a 1-18 performing its spray rinse.

Love to hear more about a real Coronodo, Jon

I have no knowledge of this vonderkind. What parts of the dream machine are actual/virtual ?

Pink Unimatic

I thought I was dreaming when I saw a pink Unimatic for the first time!

I had only recently gotten an internet connection so it must have been somewhere in 1997 or 1998. A couple resigned their 1956 pink Unimatic set and donated it to a Kansas museum. There were two small pictures with this news item of the machines. It looked like a very cool set! I liked that set immediately. Little did I know of the technique inside that washer, that knowledge came much later when I became a member of the Yahoo group.

Here is that picture of the washer

Oh fudge and nuts, ;-D

Well, then, do you think you could make us one, Jon?

John told me how gifted you are, but very, very busy.

MIkey

if I get a big enough lab someday maybe I can build one. I have the plans in my head for 'babbling brook action"! The backsplash was like graph paper it had criss-cross embossed aluminum painted flat black with raised embossed "<span style="font-family: Garamond, serif;">Coronado</span>" in silver on the left!

The window on the door was so huge you could look down into the tub and see the babbling brook action easily!

Vivid dream imagery is permanent.

When you open the lab, employ me to runs the test loads.

So the little graph paper boxes on the black were silver, too. Very nice.

Edit:

Don't have the runs
