Has anyone read Laundry: The Home Comforts Book of Caring for Clothes and Linens by Cheryl Mendelson ? It's a good book first written in 2005 and a little challenging to follow here organization but it's a great source of info on laundry. Discussion about the history of boiling laundry and use of lye is interesting and overall it's a great resource and updated and revised version of the Home Comforts book on keeping a house (well 2005 update of 1999 material is a little old but still worth reading).

Bought it years ago when first came out.

Was on sale at Barnes & Noble, so figured what can one loose.

Lots of interesting information and tidbits. Some already knew, others not.

Really only bothered with the laundry and cleaning sections; never read entire book cover to cover.
