Lavamat 240 belt needed...

The drive belt on my little AEG broke. I am not having any luck "googleing" the part number that is stamped on the belt.

I'm hoping that this is not the demise of the machine!

The number on the belt is:

SNN 645 189 520 H2 5J 1110

There is also a number 19 printed on another section of the belt.

Any advise appreciated!

Take the belt to a good auto parts store and have them match it to something on hand.
Worse case scenario the belt belt doesn’t last as long as the original...however it also may last longer. It will likely be far cheaper whatever the case.

In anticipation of obtaining a similar AEG Lavamat toplader did much research on spares and such. Sadly allowed the machine to slip through my fingers so now am left with just that; all information but no machine.

Don't bother contacting Euroline Appliances in Canada, Electrolux/AEG dealers in Europe or Electrolux's customer service in various countries. These older washers predate Electrolux's takeover and no information (manuals, service literature, part guides, etc...) exist in their files. Euroline promptly and firmly told us to push off because the machine was > 40 years old and no one has any information any longer.

While long since out of production many of these washers do survive in Europe (and again that one in USA), so there is a lively hunting down for what parts can be had.

Happily unlike Miele AEG tended to use off the shelf parts that suited a range of their machines, and or those that fell or fall under the Electrolux name. Often parts for Zanussi, Zanker, Privileg & Zanker (among others) will (but not always) swap out equally.

Tip:

When searching for information on AEG Lavmat spares or whatever try to always use the official model number. It is usually LAV with three or more numbers following.

So one isn't completely useless.

Yes, while still sort of smarting over loss of the LAV640 (or whatever), what can one say. Was slow out of the gate and things just didn't happen. Next time shall know better and move quickly.

As it turned out "next time" came soon enough and as posted elsewhere now have the more modern Lavamat toplader 46200. Both machines were "free", thus only requiring cost of transport to fetch. But am now saddled with a washer that requires expensive bit of kit to change frequency as it won't run on 60HZ, period. Well rather it *could* but neither Electrolux/AEG nor anyone else will say how to do so.

Power usage wise believe the older AEG topladers used heating elements at around 3Kw, versus the 2.1Kw or so of mine, so there is that.

Parts wise it is easy; spares are far easier to have than the older LAV240/640. But again things can still be had (as have just proven) if one looks/works hard enough.
