got a Feit LED bulb that is meant to look like an early 1900s bulb-I like it a lot, actually looks kinda authentic :)the four"filaments"seem to consist of a bunch of tiny UV diodes in a line encased in "warm white"emmiting phosphor-2200K.No electronics is evident, but doesn't seem to strobe too much.60W equivalent with 4.2 consumption,i put it in my early 1980s hunter"original"ceiling fan-once it is dark, will be able to check the lighting effectiveness of the bulb.BTW bulb was ~$ 14

I was kind of hoping someone would cover these. I have a number of reproduction carbon filament bulbs that I purchased for use in vintage fixtures. They aren't as bright as a standard bulb and the light they produce is definitely more of an amber color. They also draw more current to produce that light, though they do tend to last a very long time - even decades. If these led lookalikes can replicate the light effectively then I'll happily buy a few. Is there any way you can post a picture of one lit up?

YES!!!

I am restoring a home from the 1880s and am using mostly antique light fixtures from the 1920s and older. I have a need for these bulbs. I have, and use, reproduction carbon filament bulbs, but I would like something a little more green.

Please report on how you like them!

I've been watching these lamps for a while now and they are actually doing well. Of course they are only in the low lumen "accent" light range from what I have seen. They do have a nice vintage look but they are usually too warm for my liking (2500k) and I don't really like to glare from the clear bulb.

Here are a couple entries on a great LED lighting blog I follow that shows how these work.

like the bulbs a lot-indeed,light does tend to the "warm"end of the spectrum and a standard incandescent 60w does throw more light...The 2nd link kb0nes put up pretty much tells all regarding these bulbs :)As seen in the link, where a real antique bulb has the little tip,the feit bulbs have a more rounded nub.and there is some white plastic at the base.Bulb plays well with my lighted wall switch too-unlike some other LEDs(like my LGs)that would dimly "pulse"when off when used with the lighted switch.I have a couple of those Taiwanese antique look brass and beveled glass outdoor lights that I will try these bulbs in and see how they look
