Has anyone ever met the famous Mr Lee Maxwell? He looks like a top bloke!

I've not met Lee, but hope to someday as his home/museum is only a day's drive from here in Colorado. I ordered a copy of his book which he signed before mailing. It's a very informative book with lots of great illustrations and photos of his collection. When I sent my check for the book, I included an invitation to the convention here in June - it would be very fun to have him attend!

An unbelievably gorgeous set! I'm not a real pink fan either, but for those....I would change my whole decor!

Ok, I hate to sound like a newbie ignoramous, but who is Lee Maxwell? I get the impression that he is a vintage appliance expert. Does he have a book about collectable/vintage washers? I've been looking for something to use as a guide/reference. Fill me in on the details guys; enquiring minds want to know!

Mr Maxwells website is oldewash.com many of us stumbled on it, by accident. THIS group was on yahoo, I did not find them until they came to the Web. I did not use yahoo and had no idea about this Wonderful Site. Once I found this OMG I read all the old threads, it took many evenings, I knew i was an addict. LOL. This is like a daily therapy for me. Mr. Maxwell has collected vintage washing machines for years, from what i have learned at his site, apparently they have a motorhome and trailer. He used to mostly collect VERY early wringer type machines. Niche from washboard to the Bendix, but at one time if you typed vintage washer you would go to Mr. Maxwells site.

Hi Guy's...they look a fab pair of machines, but i cant remember seeing them when i went to see Lee back 2001...I made a special detour to Colorado, Denver to see him and his collection while we were on holiday from the UK. He has one great collection.

Years before I found this site, I stumbled on Lee Maxwell's site. Although my interest lies more with automatics (and much of Maxwell's extensive collection is non-auto) I called the man and spoke to him about visiting. We set up a date/time, but as usual, work got in the way and I wasn't able to go. Heck, I live in MN and still haven't gotten to Robert's to see his awesome collection!

Maxwell was a very nice man to talk to and was very accommodating in setting up a tour.
