And wouldn't you just know it, my late husband and I bought our second Maytag dishwasher when we purchased our new home. It was the first year after Maytag dropped the reverse rack design. However, it still washed and dried incredibly well, but had some technical flaws regarding seals and the power unit. Maytag replaced them free of charge even two years into its use.
Thinking rinso had both of these in pic. -found the builtin free 5 years ago on craigslist had very light use to my standards. The portable was just found by a bud in a house cleanout at curb which was virtually BRAND NEW about 4 years ago so also free! The cherry looking THICK wood top was prestine on delivery, sadly ive heavily stained the top by setting a cast iron dutch oven on it!
Christfr was kind enough to give me a rehabed RR portable many years ago which was used heavily before and after - i trashed it from heavy use - porcelean finnish washed off, no timer for prior 2 years use and of course no detergent cup activation. Rusty racks and had built it in as well after many years of portable use. The rr was in the island where the current built in tag is. Tossed christfr gift 2 months before the almost brand new RR was found and delivered to me! Talk about luck!
These tags continue to impress me as the build quality is exceptional by todays standards.
Both models have a learning curve as i push the limits on filthy loads!
Would bet the RR washes fuller loads cleanest by miles as the upper rack coverage on the traditional rack is debris loaded glasses placed anywhere but center! Also Suspect a failing timer as i swear i can hear the timer over the motor running! Wanting to keep this standard model for as long as possible because with the top rack removed, my biggest bong washes beautifully! Haha.
