hi all
i have an LG dishwasher model LD2120WH. its 15 months old and it died yesterday (5 jan 2011). this is the 2nd problem we've had with it. in may/june 2010 they had to replace the wash pump. now its completely dead. luckily the 2 year warrantee is still valid.
should i worry about LG or just carry on once its fixed?

While I love my LG 9810 dishwasher (about 3 years old) and have had no problems despite very heavy use (knock on wood), reliability data from customers of Consumer Reports ranks LG dishwashers as the most repair-prone brand.

LG has made significant improvements in the reliability of their washing machines (they went from near the bottom of the list to the top), and will hopefully do the same with their dishwashers. In the meantime, if you can access a more reliable brand (Whirlpool, KitchenAid, etc.) it would probably be wise to do so.

thanks. i'm from south africa so no kitchenaid. but i do like whirlpool and samsung. but good news! LG came out today and fixed it! turns out a plate chipped and that chip got stuck in the pump. but its all good now. so happy. but if there is any major problems once the warrantee expires then i'll look at either another LG, or a samsung or whirlpool. depending on how long it lasts after the warrantee expires and what problem arises if it does.
but thankx so much. i didnt know it would be such a quick fix. and i love LG washing machines. 1 of my 2 machines is the 8.2 kg top load WF8011TP. LOVE IT!!! my other is the samsung 13kg diamnd drum WA13V9 also LOVE IT!!!
