I searched this site for a LG washer repair but their is no listing. Maybe someone out their has repaired one. I had a clicking sound in the washer. Couldn't find any information on the noise. I called the company and they suggested to call a repair man, being its out of waranty. Well, you know what they cost. So, I took the washer apart myself, with no book. I found a penny in the water pump. Now, how could a penny get in the water pump? So,I took the penny out and put the machine back together with one problem. The washer is supported by 4 or 5 plastic pistons, I cannot remember the number, well I was wondering what type of grease is needed in the pistons.

I'm not familiar with these machines in particular but most machines with a friction slider in the suspension use a real sticky special grease, it is not a regular grease. It is almost the reverse of a lubricant, more of a sticky gel, the idea is to make it sticky to give some friction. The friction is necessary to stop the drum jumping around too wildly on spin.

Unless you have wiped off the old "grease", you shouldn't need to add any more, just reassemble it with whatever gel is on it, spread evenly over the sliding components. It doesn't need much.

Chris.
