Hello everybody, I've been testing the dryer empty. It's a Kenmore elite made by lg in electric steam paired with the matching washer. I tested the normal cycle with energy saver and noticed that it puts out plenty of heat on the medium heat setting at roughly 143 degrees Fahrenheit. I've noticed that some of my clothes are starting to shrink. I think I've been using the heavy-duty cycle with high hea at roughly 158 degrees Fahrenheit which may be too much. I don't feel comfortable using low heat at roughly 131 degrees fahrenheit. I believe the medium/high heat setting goes up to 151 degrees Fahrenheit. The extra low is roughly 113 degrees Fahrenheit. This is according to the lg rep, so I assume this will apply to my Kenmore elite by lg. I may have a lot of clothes that may require low heat, according to the care label, but i'm not confident it will work. Do you think I should try the normal cycle? I think the multi-level temp takes better care of freshly washed clothes from the matching washer in that department. I opened the matching dryer and felt plenty of heat billowing out. I think the heater turns on both elements at full force and cycles on/off for a predetermined amount of time. The exhaust did get plenty hot on normal when empty. When full, theexhaust pipe is cool to the touch and gradually gets hot when moisture is removed. I believe this due to heat sync along with the multi-level temp management system.

could be...

Maybe it could be. I have no problems with the machine, and a wall separates the fridge from the laundry room. I am going to experiment more with the dryer. I did find that the dryer has a jeans cycle with medium heat for 35 minutes. i'll try to stick with the 41 minute normal cycle. The timer does adjust up and down when on the sensor cycle. The last time I did everything on the normal cycle without energy saver, the clothes came out nice and dry. I noticed that the dryer pulls a lot of air at a rapid stream of 215 cfm as another user on this site has stated. Now I know why lg dryers are using medium heat on the normal cycle withhigh airflow. It's not the dryer's problem. I just have to experiment with the different cycles.
