LG st£am Washing machines

Hi
Has anyone used or know someone that has used the LG steam washer in the UK?
Is the steam refresh cycle satisfactory?
How long are cotton 40* wash cycles etc?

I've read online reviews of the LG TROMM SteamWasher, the U.S. version of this washer. It has a so-so rating here in the U.S. I've seen praise that the washer gives better clening results when steam is used and that the SteamFresh cycle does a good job in removing odors and wrinkles from laundry. I've also heard bad things about it. Particularly the machine sounding and vibrating like a helicopter at high spin speed and the electronic control board failing.

Stiftung Warentest (= Which? in the UK) tested this washer a couple of months ago. Their verdict: okay washer but both the Steam Wash and the Wrinkle Release are not what they claim to be. The Steam Wash removed stains only slighlty better than the regular Cottons 40°C cycle and shirts neither smelled better nor had significantly less wrinkles after the steam treatment. All three washers also showed control board issues during the durability test: sometimes, the machines just didn't switch off after the wash.
