So, were these Amana's released about the same time as the Kitchenaid Limited Editions - have never seen this Amana before...

The electronic control Amana is from the mid-90's, I nearly bought one before deciding on a Maytag dependable care set. Essentially it is a Speed Queen clone.

In the late 60s, sometime, Hotpoint sorta lost the flair that made Hotpoint appliances, ranges especially, such icons of styling in the 50s and early 60s. That range control panel does nothing for me.

Flat panel electronics do not have to be sterile

Kitchenaid limited editions that have the digital controls, are worlds apart from this Amana panel. If that Amana is a Speed Queen clone, that's suggesting it's a decent machine, maybe worthy of owning, but the panel is boring compared to what Kitchenaid did with their limited edition panels. Just sayin'.

I like the Hotpoint except for the control knobs. The GE ones are easier to turn, and if I got the Hotpoint, I probably replace the knobs with GE parts.
