I Found this Westinghouse "D 1000" at a Salvation Army Thrift Store in East Ridge, TN. I first saw it at Christmas & when I returned this weekend it was still there, so I bought it for $20.00! The guy at the S.A. said the donor told him that the machine operated but after looking inside, after getting it home to SC, it just looks like a fire waiting to happen! It looks like the "time line" system is beat up but I have not investigated under the hood to get a really close look. I have no idea why the previous owner would have spliced the power cord the way he did but it look kind of scary (it is in the trash now). But, on a positive note, the lint filter mechanism is still in tact!
I will be needing suggestions on where to start (after cleaning) like what does an intact time-line mechanism actually look like. I assume the timer mechanism & Cycle mechanism are going to be challenging. All advise will be appreciated.
I have not checked to see if there is an Operating Manual or a Repair Manual available but will check the sit for either or both.
