Look What My Hubby Gave me!

As some of you may know, I have chronic back pain which prevents me from standing, especially over a iron for any amount of time. However, I do like having pressed shirts and sheets. I have seen the Pfaff steam ironers in ads but thought they were only available in Europe. Jerry, my partner, stated that the Miele is also a German company (love those Germans) and is available in the US through Bed,Bath & Beyond. I have used it several times and love it. It doesn't have a "steam" setting, but I can take clothes straight out of the washer and run them through this ironer with ease. And knock on wood, I haven't burn my fingers on the pressing wheel as yet...lol. These are two pictures of the new machine.

Greenville Sew&Vac has a Meile rotary presser similar to the one shown.It is not for sale-but used by the shop owners wife for pressing quilts and other large things.I would bet if a customer wants one,Mike would order one for them.It runs from 120V.

Have A Pfaff Ironer

But had no idea they are now sold in the USA. According to my information they never were offered here. Mine came via someone who moved house to the United States years ago and brought the thing with her. Later her children sold the thing to me.

Congrats on your Miele ironer. Have always wanted one but got the Pfaff and Frigidare for far less than a Miele costs then or now. Oh and the Ironrite as well.

That's beautiful! I've used Fred's in Chicago at Tarantula Arms and it's wonderful, so smooth and easy to use. Enjoy

What a nice looking machine.  Are the controls easy to use are they hand or knee operated?  What a good gift from your Hubby!!

  Since this was a gift, I didn't dare ask Jerry what he paid for it.  However,  I have a feeling I will have to return the favor in some way

   Launderess, I also think the Pfaff ironer has more features than the Miele such as a water vault for steam ironing, an opening in the back that you can pull shirts from back to front, and a steam setting (without using the roller and press) for sweaters and towels.  But hey, I'm not complaining.

 

Also thank you gansky1 and westie2.  Westie2, when you apply pressure on the foot petal, the presser comes down on the piece of fabric which also starts the roller.  BTW,  I have also noticed that the front plate comes off so you can do tubular pieces such as pleated slacks with ease.  Yes, I do have a wonderful hubby!

I see the foot petal now.  At first look it to me was just part of the foot to the ironer.  If you ever make a video please post it for us to see.

As for the back pain, have you tried "Vibram Five Fingers" shoes? I have tried them recently and BOY do they help loosen everything up.

What a FAB present, they really are a lovely modern ironer, so smooth in action & simple to operate, we got to use one at Gregs for the 2007 vac convention..Andy brought one down to demonstrate....here we see "Heir Vebmeister" checking the Maytag table clothes are good to go!!!

...Thanks Brett and Joe! Yes, this looks like the one I have, except for the control buttons. The cute guy in the video seems very enthralled with his ironer lol

...Chestermikeuk, Can't say using this ironer is as addictive as eating a bag of Lays Potato Chips for me, but it does comes pretty darn close to it I really love the finished pieces that come out of the ironer.
