Does any club members from NY or NJ know of where to used GE washers (appliance stores)? I'm want a 70's GE washer...miraculously---preferably 1972 to 1977 era

HEYYY Yogi, thanks alot I knew that if I found one I wanted I'll have to piece it and WHOA!!! Launderess, I think that may be the one I'm looking for...I don't check Craigslist listings everyday so I missed this one...thanks a million...WHOA!!!

Sadly NYC

Is full of roving scrappers in vans just looking for anything they can get their mitts on.

Have seen trucks with plates from far south as North Carolina, but NJ, PA, Maryland, and a few other states are well represented.

It is illegal to take anything put on streets of NYC for recycling/rubbish collection, but that doesn't stop these scrappers.

Speaking of dryer...there's a free dryer available...spoke to the owner and he NEEDS to give both away as the pair...I ONLY WANT the washer...is anyone interested in the dryer?

spoke to the owner

Wow, they are actually still available, I thought for sure the scrap vultures would have trashed these by now.

However, get over there ASAP, I've had a few deals fall through at the last minute because someone got there a couple of hours before me...Grab the dryer, you can find home for it later.

UPDATE...I think I've lost them

...just needed the guy to verify washer model...whether or not it was the 3 speed extra large capacity or if it was the standard size tub...spoke to him and asked if he can post the additional clearer (close-up) of the CONTROL PANEL and the TUB INTERIOR view...he agreed to send to me the pics today but, he hasn't yet...my mover guy was prepared to take them off his hands 8 o'clock this morning...it's 1:18 PM still has not answered my emails and he ended the Craigslist posting

fingers crossed...

hopefully he will get back in communication and you will get the machines.Hopefully someone didn't swoop in with cash and grab them-I think I have seen that happen a few times on here with classic machines.

willing to bet you scared him off playing 'text tag'....

even when I am selling a machine, when people start asking question after question, that's when I hit delete and move on to the next buyer.... no one has time for that...

Kenny is right, their FREE, you will figure all that stuff out when you get them....

the guy posted them for free, and added a pic.....that's was way more generous than anyone could ask....

a scrapper would not give any hassle, grab and run.....

better luck next time.....

@ yogitunes, you may be right but, I know what I want...which was an extra large capacity washer not the standard size...the pictures were the only way I could know that...there was no harm in the "2" other photos...if that is what his attitude or thinking is then (that's the end of that)...THEY'RE STILL UP FOR GRABS

bet you scared him off playing 'text tag'.

Right.

When someone is listing a washer you're very interested in, for FREE, the only question you should be asking is what time can I pick it up?
(and perhaps offer $50 to sweeten the deal).
