Looking to buy: Maytag Chrome Cap / Lint Filter

Hello all! I am looking to find and obtain for a reasonable price, one of the chrome cap and lint filter assemblies for an older standard tub Maytag. I’m not sure how many of them are out there, but I would love to add some chrome in place of the turquoise lint filter on my A106, that stands out a bit from the black agitator. I know there was also the chrome trimmed fabric softener dispenser and lint filter assembly, but I’m looking for the one that is just a flat top, without the fabric softener dispenser cup. Any and all help is appreciated!

Yes, pretty much exactly like that. I’ve always loved the look of the black agitator with the chrome (or is it stainless steel?) dispenser and lint filter assembly like in those pictures. I would love to find one if possible, since I now have a machine with a black agitator.

I have a whole agitator with that filter. It came out of a 1964 A500 machine. Lost it for a while in the garage but found it a few weeks ago. I actually was able to save the agitator on the rusted shaft without having to shatter it. I just drilled a 1/2" hole in the top and sprayed Kroil into the cavity and let it soak a few days then was able to wiggle the agitator off in one piece.

I’m not sure if you’re wanting to part with it, but if you ever were to decide, I would love to get the whole agitator as well. I’m really the most interested in the lint filter cap, but I know the agitator is a little different, with the fins connecting at the base as well. If you’re interested in letting it go, you can send me an email and I would happily purchase it for a reasonable price.
