Just home from what Australians would call an "appliance store crawl". I was surprised to see a Whirlpool 10kg ??Duet(not labelled as such) washer for $AU3499. It seemed like a lot of money even given the exchange rate.

SO the new 10kg Whirlpool is here at last!
I cant believe they are charging so much for it. $3500! Thats a 1000 more than the Maytag Neptune and $1500 more than the LG columbus 10kg FL.
I think that is quite disgusting, do they honestly think they are going to sell any at that price point. Besides Whirlpool is still an everyday name so brand label people are not going to go for it. If it was reasonably priced they might find a winner on there hands, I know a few people have been willing to shell out 2 grand for the LG.
My guess is it will soon drop in price.
