Hi all, i'm based in the UK and made the mistake of purchasing a Miele w2 washing machine and Miele T2 dryer to match. Prior to this I was the proud owner of a Whirlpool AWM 9100 washer and AWZ481E dryer (both these were front loading American size). The AWM9100 started to die and parts were unavailable.

Then i went to the Samsung 18kg washer and Samsung 16kg dryer (from costco) - but the build and wash quality in these was not very good. Also I dont like the fact that they didnt have HOT fill.

Then i purchased the Fisher Paykel 12kg WH1260 (hot and cold fill) and matching dryer. The rinse quality on this machine was terrible, I was offered a full refund. The dryer had no time remaining indicator but was a good reversing dryer.

Now i've purchased the Miele W2 and Miele T2. The W2 washer has a spin wash at the beginning of the cycles and has a HOT fill inlet. I'm a stern believer that washing machines need a hot fill facility (thats my opinion).

However because the drum has not paddles some laundry items struggle to wash and rinse. I am having to put on several wash cycles without detergent afterwards to ensure the detergent has washed away.

Miele emailed saying that they will be sending a software upgrade which they have done a few days ago to rectify these issues but the issues still remain.

For this moment in time i would say avoid purchasing this machine until Miele address the issues. I HAVE been offered a full refund for the machine however there is not an alternative machine with a hot fill capability.

To my BAD luck Samsung have now released the new series 9 in 20kg which HAS a hot inlet, but when I got rid of the Samsung 18kg I had my granite worktop lowered in my laundry room :(
