While it wouldn't be my first choice, Ralph loves anything oatmeal and especially loves this pie!! It was nice to not worry about having to peel fruit, etc. This one couldn't have been any easier!

Me2

I love oatmeal. I seem to go through a large drum of it every two weeks.
Those giant chewy oatmeal raisin cookies are amazing. And so healthy. 👅

Feel like Breaking-Into Making THIS Pie Recipe:

I used my deep dish pie shells to make an apple a pie a couple days ago--but I'm game to go out & buy 'em again, or can I use regular-sized?

Thank you, Kevin--and an abundance of standard-sized shells is where I bought my pack of 2 at, from my local grocery--so Oatmeal in one, and I'm sure I will come up w/ something else bake in...

And your recipes are ever-inspiring--even me being not that culinarily-savvy in that kitchen, most every recipe you've presented I have, both, attempted and achieved!

Thanks, Kevin...

Deep Dish Pie crust?  Are these like the Pillsbury rolled up type, or the ones in a foil pan?  I use Pillsbury often, but they are always a little too small for my pie plates I used to roll the dough out a bit, now i just toss it like a pizza crust and it stretches a bit.  Would not mind a bigger size.

Thank you again, Mr. '313'!!!!

Well, here is MY Oatmeal Pie:

I needed a Deep Dish, as you can see, (in the 2nd picture) it over-flowed while baking... (It's just simply a larger-sized frozen pie crust...)

The cinnamon needed to be placed so I would "add next-time, and omit this time", as while flavorful, I think I wanted a truer oatmeal taste...  Ditto for my dark brown sugar...  There's some Light waiting for the next one I bake, as with the corn syrup: Only had Dark handy, but luckily that 1 cup of, so bought a bottle of light AND another Dark, 'cause there's a Pecan Pie Recipe there (Never made!) that the other deep dish shell can be saved for; in a freezer bag... Last of all, I used my Old Fashioned Oats--there were more of available...  But next time I will try the One-Minute-Quick Oats, that I might just make that one cup of there...

Yes, like the many other recipes I get introduced to & find the time & have my inate skills to make, this one ALSO turned out DARNED GOOD!!!! (Last Pic is the Happy Ending!)

The DaveAMKrayoGuy Oatmeal Pie Strikes Again: This time: One-Minute Oats (there was a Cup, in exact-measurement left in the carton) and omitted Cinnamon, for a truer taste--also the butter seemed to had been forgotten until last... I'd noticed the measuring cup of it after it'd melted (used the microwave for melting) & had long-cooled-off, after I had stirred up the oats, according to the recipe in the mixing bowl, about to fill the shell... Also bought & used LIGHT Corn Syrup, and used Light Brown Sugar, too...

(But, still, I think I've come up w/ another winner! So, thanks again...)
