I had been eyeing the Martha Stewart all natural fabric softener in the large pump bottle at my local Publix Market for some time now.  The $12.00 price tag prohibited me from trying it, however.  Last Saturday when I was in my Publix Market I found all the Martha Stewart fabric softener on the clearance carousel for $3.59 a bottle.  I bought one and almost bought a secord.  The fragrance was very mild and pleasant.  I did not like the pump as it was akward when trying to pump the softener into the fabric softener dispenser on my BOSCH FL washer.  Not a problem, just akward.  The first and second loads in which I used this softener came out of the dryer nice and fluffy with a very faint pleasant aroma. However, the third load was not fluffy when it came out of the dryer.  When I went to unload the fourth load of clothing from the washer I noticed the softener had clogged the dispenser and left a huge wad of thick softener in the dispenser.  I had to wash the dispenser with hot water and ran the next two loads without any softener.  I am wondering, if it left such a mess in the dispenser could there be a problem elsewhere in my machine?  I washed two loads yesterday and used a tablespoon of white vinegar in the dispenser for each load.  The dispenser seems to be working fine now.  I'm hoping all the gummy softener is cleared out now.  Has anyone else tried the Martha Stewart all natural fabric softener in the pump dispenser?  I've used the Martha Stewart all natural dishwasher detergent with great results.  I'll be donating the rest of the bottle of MS fabric softener to my local thrift store.  It would probably work well in a top loading machine if diluted properly but I'm not going to use it in my machine anymore not even if I diluted it.  I read the directions before using the softener and there was no mention of diluting the softener if used in a dispenser.  Thank you for any comments.

I don't know about the FS, but Martha Stewart's laundry detergent was the lowest rated by Consumer Reports. They said using Martha Stewart is no better than washing in plain water. Ditch the product.

I have had

problems with Downy clogging my lint filter in both my washer and dryer when I used it. I have always used white vinegar for a rinsing agent but thought I would try the Downy (spelling?) for a bottle. I am back to white vinegar in the rinse cup for good. It is the best rinsing agent I have found in my washing years. My Mom used it for years at home. It DOES NOT leave a vinegar odor unless you put to much in. Thats my story and I'm sticking to it LOL.

I hear Martha mixed up this formula while in prison from ingredients she was able to steal from the commisary.  It made her hand crocheted Poncho and wool blanket feel just like home.

Sorry, just a joke I couldn't help myself.

Another reason I'm a flag waving socialist pinko:

Is that people like Martha Stewart, Rachel Ray, Bobby Flay and a whole host of others make a ridiculous amount of money by licensing their names to inferior products that masses of Americans put down hard earned cash to buy.

Right wingers call this "earning money"

I call this fraud.

It's not made by 9yo Chinese slave girls, it's made FROM them.

My FL specifically says to dilute softener by 3:1 before adding to dispenser. I used some briefly. It made towels soft. It also made them waterproof. I'd opt for dryer sheets but it's just another expense. The 50% poly sheets do build up a lot of static in winter, I just cuss and move on when it snaps me.

The eating

away may be so but I have done it with my Maytag for over 15 years and have had no problems. I called my repair man about this so as to not do damage to my machine and he told me he never heard of this problem. He recommends using vinegar to clean out gunk from soap/fabric softener in washers. Anyhow, what to do.
