We have a Maytag Model A810 washer and matching DE810 electric dryer that have been in continous service since 1982. Color is almond. Both in good working condition. Washer has recently started to leak a small amount of water on the floor. I need to investigate where it is coming from.
We are planning to replace both in month or so and they will be available free to anyone that wants to pick them up here in Georgetown, Texas (30 miles north of Austin).
Please let me know if you are interested. I will advise the leak status as soon as I open it up. Also will advise the availability date. If no interest will let the new appliance dealer haul them away but would much prefer to give them to someone that would appreciate them.
Only maintenance in the 32 years of service was to replace the motor in washer about ten years ago. All other is original.
Also have the operating instructions for both and installation guide.

Update on Maytag A819/DE810 post

Found leak in washer. Hose from the bleach dispenser was leaking where it attaches to the bottom of tub. A minor thing. Needs new hose.
Everything else looks good. In fact, so good that we have decided to delay the replacement for a while. Need to do some research on what to get.
Thanks to kakidd for the reply. I will keep you in mind when we do phase these items out. Sorry for the change in plans.

Any one have any ideas on a good new Maytag washer to provide basic service. Top loader and without all of the latest bells and whistles.

Also does anyone know how to compare the capacity of the 1982 A810 with today's models. Original documentation for the A810 says "large" but how large is that.

I will post pictures in a day or two.

If you're going to get a new top loader, I would seriously consider a Speed Queen. A Maytag top loader of today won't even come close to as good as the one you have right now, in my opinion. (They're not really a "Maytag" anymore, anyway...)
