Maytag 806 for sale.....

Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Help Support :

yeah, it was eating at me......SO.....I pick up the washer tomorrow morning.....

like I need another machine.....shoot me!

but if your going to have just one, make it TOL with everything on it.....yeah, to only use Regular cycle, warm wash, cold rinse, normal speed, full water level for every load....but nice to know I have options...

you could be right about the scratches on the dryer.....but that would be a somewhat standard top that could be switched out for a better one, in the mean time, a bit of touch up would hide most of it for now....

the rest seems like surface dirt....a good cleaner would take care of that....

I'll leave the 806 to you Louie in my will....wouldn't be the first Maytag I pushed on you....lol

I know the washer has all the bells and whistles you could want....

I don't know much about the dryer of this series, as an 806, it should have everything, but looks to me almost a one dial wonder.....and definitely a Halo of Heat....I would usually think most matched sets would have the same amount of buttons, or in Maytags case, slots.....

well....he is home.....just needing some clean up......decent shape for the most part...

the light does work, but wasn't pushed into its holder....

tub light needs a new bulb, lens cover was found underneath, so that will need glued back on.....

didn't realize it is a Suds Saver machine.....apparently that hose was never hooked up, but does seem to work.....

got to love that 7 foot drain hose....and original fill hoses.....

but here comes the slightly bad news, the main seal is dripping......so eventually I will be searching here for one of the threads of doing a replacement, or maybe bringing it with me to the DC event as a project....either way, it will be a learning experience....

dated....April 1972

Congrats, Martin!  This is my absolute favorite period of Maytag washers - 1966 through 1972 or so.  And you scored a Suds Saver, to boot!

Don't let the leaky seal scare you off.  IMO this is a washer worthy of a complete tear down and rebuild.  I have a twin to this washer waiting for the same job.

the bleach actually gets dispensed as soon as agitation begins.....

a unique setup as water is pulled from the side port of the outter tub, bleach is diluted, and sent down through the pump, and up into the outter tub....

water circulates through the dispenser during all agitation phases.....but I guess if they wanted, they could have added a solenoid to control when it was dispensed...

usual directions for bleach, is to add 5 minutes after agitation begins....

this dispenser is white, most of the ones I seen were clear, you could watch the water swirling inside....we like water drama

curious, couldn't this be added to any Maytag?....as long as there is a bleach dispenser up top, and the side port, the port is already on top of the pumps, just needs opened up...

Clear

I don't think I have ever seen one of these on a Maytag. Must have been reserved for the 806 only and/or abandoned not long after.
