Maytag A142?

I have a feeling that will be sitting around for a while at that price.  A tub shot would have been very helpful.

Is it me, or does that lid look Whirlpool-ish? Anyone buy it yet?? (Ducks and runs...)

I wouldn't call that a crack in the glass back panel as the seller puts it. That back glass is broken! The seller is probably a victim of someone's advice who told him "There are collectors out there that will pay you BIG BUCKS for your machine!".

There was a short time in 1957 when the 142 used the same two piece lid that the AMP machines used, sans the the water level mechanism.  It did keep, however, 2 mercury switches in the lid as the lid safety switch and tub light switch as the light was in the lid just like it was on the 140 & 141.

What are the two round buttons on the left side of the console for right below the break in the glass?

That's the switch for the fluorescent back-lighting. I see the seller ended the auction early saying the item is no longer available for sale. I wonder what happened there.

Well, now it's back. Only this time the opening minimum bid amount has been lowered to $250.00. A step in the right direction, but still delusional.
