Hi all,
I have an opportunity if anyone might be interested. I have a matching turquoise Maytag washer and dryer set that I must part with. They are from about 1965. They were in my house when I bought the house and I had been using them without problems until recently. They have begun to have some issues and I don't have the time or resources to repair these machines. The Maytag repair man automatically looked at the machines and said there were no parts available and he was not willing to repair them.
The washer is a Maytag A702. It seems as though it needs new damper pads as the machine shakes a lot when it spins. It also has been spitting out some gunky oil from the transmission.
The matching electric dryer seems to work well. The only thing that I have noticed about it is that some lint seems to bypass the filter somehow.
I would like to get $100 for the set however the most important thing to me is that they find a good home. I don't think I would be able to stand to see these awesome machines get hauled away to a scrap yard. I am to the point where these need to go because I need the space! I know that even though I don't have the time or resources to work on these, there is somebody out there who does so hopefully someone can rescue these! They are located in Moline, Illinois.
If you or anybody you know are interested, please email me at [email protected]
