the tinted drum from loads of jeans is a clear indicator......denim washed in warm/hot water will not transfer dyes to the dryer drum....
I wash a lot of denim, blue and black, and my dryer drums are still white....
but yeah, that stainless drum of the washer is a nice touch for the direct drive machines....but makes you wonder, why isn't the dryer stainless as well....
Whirlpool is fooling exactly no one with this smoke and mirrors charade. PGH Craigslist is littered with these machines in various states of disrepair and/or owners disgust.

Thank you Martin. My previous 1986 LK dryer and the current 1992-1994 DC Maytag, the drum look pretty much unscathed with dye transfer. I always thought it was because I just don't wash multiple loads of jeans each month.
And with modern top loaders built in the last 10 years or so with Auto Temp Control dumbing down "warm" to a tepid pass for "warm" (75-80 degrees F), I'm not sure this "warm" is \enough to prevent dye transfer And "cool" now days is what was ATC "cold" on my Lady Shredmore--60-65 degrees F--was. Doubt 70-75 degrees F is warm enough to bread down and dissolve body oils and loosen dirt. Yuck!!!
