Automatic Washer - The world's coolest Washing Machines, Dryers and Dishwashers

Maytag washer Push-Button Bank

Should actually go on an A906, These were always beautifully simple looking machines, but they never sold well as almost any one that looked at one could see how impractical they were because of a lack of versatility.

Maytag was the last company to offer a one-button-washer, When these came out in 1959 Lady Kenmore, Westinghouse and Hotpoint also built washers with a rapid advance two motor timer, they were all cool looking machines but none ever sold well and all but MT dropped these neat washers by around 1963, Maytag continued for around another ten years or so.

Thanks for sharing. The A906 was the first to receive the "Permanent Press" update, replacing the Wash n Wear button starting in the spring of '67.

Funny how plastics age over time, even stashed away in this box the once pearly white buttons have started to turn yellow (Rinse/Spin Dri). I always assumed it required some UV exposure - apparently not.
