Does anyone have a source for damper pad adhesive? I'm having trouble finding it, and the damper pad kits I'm finding don't include the adhesive, only the Polylube. I've found it on a couple of pricey parts Websites - at a price higher than the price of the damper pad kit, plus special shipping, since it's full of stuff that horrifies the E.P.A.

I understand that the part number is 055978. Can anyone guide me to a source that doesn't cost a fortune?

I've always used the 'yellow' adhesive that's for gluing on KM/WP dryer drum felt seals. Glue on the pads and let set overnight.Never had an issue. It can be gotten really cheaply thru any parts distributor.

The yellow stuff is not what you want to use on drumseals as it is not hightemp and will dry up and flake off.The brown hightemp is what I have been using for 20 years now and it is super strong and will hang on forever. It comes with the whirlpool rear drum seal and is also sold separately.I used to buy it under the 3m name

Color blind am I?

Maybe. The high temp stuff I use is yellowish (maybe dark yellowish). Says "hi temp" on the tube. I know that I've seen darker colored hi temp stuff as well. Nevertheless, the yellowish stuff will be more than adequate for damper pads...

That yellowish stuff sounds a lot like 1300L. If the products are similar, 1300L can be found at most hardware stores, including Lowes and Home Depot. It can be a little stringy right out of the can or tube, but if you thin it down a bit with toluene it becomes much easier to work with and can even be painted on with an acid brush. We used to use it this way to install deicer boots to the leading edges of Twin Commander aircraft. It's great stuff.
