Well my local search for a maytag DE808 dryer to match the A806 washer continues. If any one here has this model in white could you please post a picture of it, just so I can have a reference photo.

Liam, do you have a Craigs List in your area? I have seen a vintage Maytag washer or dryer almost every time I go in to look at the listing for appliances for sale, and even in the free section. The center dial models do still turn up but IIRC your washer has the gold colored lower panel and it may be tough to find the matching dryer. You may have to settle for the silver-blue panel color scheme for a dryer. I loved my electronic contol center dial dryer, just turn the knob and give it a push (a timed cycle wasn't even an option) and the dryer did the rest quietly and in a very efficient manner. And that was a "halo from hell" gas model. The one to match your washer will be a later model that has the lint screen up front so no worries about the whole halo thing. Good luck, don't give up, your dryer is out there waiting for you.
