I'm new to dryer maintenance. Can anyone tell me how long the glides typically last and how one can tell replacement is needed? Thanks!

I don't believe a 106 uses "glides".

Front Drum Bearing Glides

You simply look at them, you can see how thick they are on the ends and compare how much they are worn in the middle, when they are worn to about 1/2 the orignal thickness consider replacement if the dryer gets a lot of use.
