Have oppertunity to purchase one for $50. Does anyone have apic? I understand it is a mid century appliance, haven't seen it....any thoughts?

Roy

This is in reference to both of your Maytag Wringer Posts.
I don't know one model from another , but I expect to before
long. I think 50 bucks would be a reasonable price for any
mid century machine in operating condition , or with all its
parts intact and not thrashed. If this link doesn't work
check the Imperial Archives for jetactions 2nd annual maytag
camp thread , you have to scroll pretty far down to find it.
It might be of interest to you. Darrel

Hi Roy ... If you are getting an E2LS, Maytag produced the "S" series ("S" - Safety Pedal) from 1969 to the end of wringer washer production in November 1983.

If the machine is in good shape, $50 is a very good price! :-)

On a lot of these machines, the safety pedal no longer works and people removed them from up underneath the machine and replaced them with a 1/2" machine bolt you can get at any hardware store.

Here are some photos of my E2LPS that I was VERY fortunate to get brand-spanking new a few years ago.

Here it is; right out of the crate ...
