The local Maytag showroom has some interesting things on display. A Gray Ghost wringer, an N2LS, and an ironer. The owners are curious to know a bit more about the ironer (they are not well-versed in really vintage Maytag stuff). I know nothing of ironers, especially Maytag ironers. Are they as good as the fabled Ironrite? Do they have any value these days (I know, value is in the eye of the beholder, depending on shipping).

Also, I am experimenting with my increasingly vintage computer. I reformatted the hard drive and installed Linux and this is my first Linux surfing session. I hope this post works properly.

Cheers,
Dave

Maytag offered ironers for quite a few years, built in Newton and later sourced from Ironrite. The Ironrite models are easy to identify, they have the same shoe-below-the-role and instead of Ironrite on the bakelite "shelf" in front of the shoe they say "Maytag".
