Please help!

I was using this machine last night to do my laundry and I think I may have over filled it. Now the machine agitates very slowly! The motor still runs and it still moves I'm just confused. Any tips on how to repair it would be appreciated!

Thanks Derek

Water level

Shouldn't have anything to do with it. Does it agitate at normal speed when empty? When it agitates slowly does the wringer also slow down? The first thing I'd check is a slipping or worn belt. If the wringer works at normal speed when the agitation is slow I'd look at the agitator spline. It could be slipping on the center plate shaft or in the agitator itself. Let us know. We LOVE a good mystery!

They tie together,

The agitator and the wringer. So if one, the agitator, moves slowly and the other, the wringer moves at regular speed, there's something wrong with the agitation. What I mean is when the motor is plugged in, the power unit is in motion and so are the gears that drive the center plate (agitator) and the wringer. You start and stop wringer and agitator operation by engaging and disengaging clutches. It's not possible for them to run at different speeds. If a belt was slipping or the motor was running slower, they'd both be affected equally. I'm betting there's something with the agitator spline. You can replace that or the entire agitator but them being stuck is a common problem. I had to break mine off then cut the old spline off with a jig saw. Or a grinder will work. Try loosening it with boiling water. Some folks have had luck with that method.

Spline?

Did the spline from the old agitator come off with it or is the old spline still stuck on the agitator shaft? Also look at the bottoms of both old and new agitator. Do they look the same?
