Hello all!
It's been a long time. Sadly I've been in no position to collect any more lovely old laundry equipment, so I still just have the two washers, this one and the Whirlpool, which is still out of service with a leak.
I've been using this Maytag for years now, and, other than the fact that the timer contacts have stuck again, it has been working well until recently.
I recently had "stinky" hot water, and, in an attempt to correct it, cranked up the temperature on the water heater. Unfortunately, this has evidently damaged the washer's valve.
Now, when it opens, it pulses or shudders. As a remedy, I've stopped using the hot water valve, instead using a Y to mix hot and cold and supply water to the machine through the cold valve only. I control the temperature with the supply valves.
The question is, what is the part number for the valve, or a rebuild kit, so I can look around the 'net for a replacement / repair parts?
Thanks so much,
Keith
