Maytag LAT9416AAE washer - agitator shaft pops out
serial number: 25121576WH

Agitator shaft keeps popping out .....

I thought I replaced the collar that holds it in ......like 4 months ago...I did replace the collar - although the installation didn't seem like it really holds the agitator shaft in..

now the agitator is popping out again...

Or..... is there a clip holding the shaft in down near the transmission?.........I'm supposing I have the newer model and there is no spring clip down below.....mainly because when I took everything apart...I didn't see a spring clip.

Is there a location for the clip to hold the agitator shaft?

Any ideas?

Loose agitator shaft on a helical drive MT washer , Orbital

There in a Delrin clip on the agitator shaft that is supposed to hold the shaft in place, if it has popped out in use you may have water in the transmission and need to clean up the trans and change the oil.

 

To get to the DC you have to pull the wash basket and the mounting stem off the transmission.
