Maytag Neptune MAH3000AWW

I just bought a home and it contained a White Maytag MAH3000AWW that doesn't operate properly. I can make it start a cycle if I hold down the start button the whole time, but as soon as I release it - the unit stops working....any ideas? It seems to click like there may be a short in the switch or something...any help at all would be appreciated.

May need a control board located in the console.

Mine did the same thing out of the box. They replaced the control board, and then other problems immirged.Keep in mind that they have made improvements to these machines,aka updates, new rubber door seal, new contol board, the top one.Also really watch for mildew.It was a big problem with these machines. I no longer have mine.I am sure that that when you get it going, you will have alot of fun with it. Good Luck with it. RCZ
