Yep, almond for sure. Last year for yellow was 1967. These are from the late 70's, not the 60's, as the ad claims.

Happens *All* The Time

In fact just last week saw a local auction on CL for a Miele set that used a member's picture.

Personally I'd *flag* the auction on CL if I caught them using my photographs. I mean if they are using "fake" pictures, then how does anyone buying the item know what they are getting? Also how lame is it not spend time and money taking pictures of something you want shifted. In this era when even cheap cell phones have a digital camera, or one can purchase a disposable unit from a drug store, there really isn't an excuse.

Word to wise, in future one should watermark pictures posted in the group. While it may not prevent someone from lifting photographs, it will tell others whom the snap belongs.

I See Your Point...

I probably won't flag it, but I definitely want our users to be aware that the photo is not the machine. This is the 2nd time that has happened to me personally though. There was an historic architectural review site using some pics I had on my PhotoBucket for a local mental hospital info piece. I never got a response when I tried contacting them. I was a bit peeved at that since I had to make so many arrangements to get inside for photos but at the same time it WAS a way to get my photos viewed.

I totally agree about the readiness of cameras. I forget that my phone has a camera on it often as I'm just not in that mindset. Also I would probably never buy something unless I was willing for the WORST case scenario on CL without a pic though

Attempting to sell something using someone else's photo seems cheesy. How hard is it to snap your own shot and upload it? However, if the seller is honest about the photo not being his own in the ad, there is a chance the seller is just being lazy and not trying to hide anything.

In a case like this, where the purloined photo is not even mentioned in the ad, you have to wonder what else is not factual? Does he even own the item he's trying to sell?

maytag twin tubs

those maytag twin tubs are fun little washers-the two impellers
reverse periodicly as they run and the spin can i recon spins
at around 1850-1900 rpm judging by the size of the pulleys that
drive it from the 1/4 hp spin motor,a 2nd 1/4 hp motor drives
the impellers(this little washer is heavy for the size!)
-i have two;a 1975 in avocado and a 1978 in harvest-the 1978
needs minor repair, one of the impeller pulleys is a bit loose
on its shaft and makes a klunking noise as it rocks on it's
roll pin.

Thumper..

My 1970 does this thumping. The pulleys rock on the roll pins, and the machine hasn't been used much. I don't think it even warrants repair aside from the sound. The 1980 A-50 I have with the gray impellers only slightly does this with a hevy load. I love these little machines. The 1970 was partially disassembled for some parts for the 1980 model since the 1980 model has barely been used and has the matching DE-50. Mine are white, I wish they were Harvest. If you do repair this, please let me know how you did it. :) Happy Porta-Washing

Also, just curious, which do you like better, the newer or older A-50? The new ones are built lighter than the older ones, I notice the newer ones vibrate a bit more than the boat anchor earlier ones.

on the year spread of my washers, there is no major differences
other than color-only difference noticed is the'75's pump is
held together with screws while the pump in the '78 is heat
welded together. Also the '78 has a GE wash motor and emerson
spin motor while i remember the '75 having GE motors for both
(could be wrong,haven't looked in the '75 for a while)My 1977
de306 dryer has a westinghouse motor-looks like maytag used
motors from all the motor suppliers at that time
I havent seen a hoover or japanese twinnie for a while in my
area, but will get any of those if they show up locally...
