That tractor will probably run forever I'd bet. Bro in law has an old JD garden tractor still chugging away. It looks sort of like that one only in miniature. The new ones don't look or feel at all like they'd ever hold up as long. Same with our old TroyBilt Horse Rototiller which now resides at their place and is still going strong and it's around 35-40 y.o. Pretty much anything short of an A bomb hitting them directly isn't going to make a dent.
I have a 30 year old John Deere lawnmower, bought brand new, that still runs like it was brand new. Never have had any problems whatsoever. Starts on the first pull every time with the original spark plug. Weighs a ton but I am sure will outlast any of the cheap crap of today. Every one I know that owns a John Deere product will swear by them.
See JD tractors like that my way-usually for bush hog duties-but tractor rides are still fun,though-despite the hard steering.I just don't have enough land for a real tractor.Just a JD LA145 mower-tractor.
I hated cutting wood and working with it, but I certainly loved coming in the house to Grandma's BIG dinner. It gave her such pleasure to watch us eat it all up. I miss those times in Grandma's Kitchen.
Hans, you looked like you were having all kinds of fun on that John Deere! And I can only imagine the wonderful things Bonnie cooked up for her hard-working wood haulers!
