No that would be too messy Tom, I open the lid which stops the machine and pour it into one of the 3 channels of drum that has indent for the drum paddles.

Robert, Thanks. I did not know that the lid could be opened during the cycle. Wasn't the Launderall lid locked during the cycle? And the Hortons were not?
No both brands could be unlocked and opened by turning the lid handle anytime during the cycle which stops the machine.
