Too little too late, Mark.

McCain's poll numbers are tanking. Is this the best you can come up with?

Excuse me, I'm not the one who's been reduced to pathetic race baiting. I read Michelle Obama's thesis and find absolutely nothing to object to. And according to YOUR OWN SOURCE, it's being quoted out of context for political purposes.

The good news is, if this really is all the VRWC has left to bolster the campaign of Mr. Keating 5, they're already defeated. Just pathetic.

I have to agree

Mcain is loosing ground quickly, as if he had a chance anyway with the shape the country is in after what the Republicans did with the energy meeting that were closed off to everyone except a small handfull, no transparency with everything to hide and cover up.I know of no one that I know or aquainted with even casually here on Robert's site that are racisit. It should never come down to name caling and belitting for the reasons that you feel you need to, very republican if I may say so myself. You are entitled to your point of view, that is what we do here, remember to have respect for people. If you feel that he, Mcain is the best man for the job, so be it. Most here would not hold that view point. I would chalenge you instead of telling me, and everyone what you feel that the Obamas lack, what would Mcain have to offer, and expierience is not one of those qualites.Being president is pretty well a on the job training. the S and L scandle that John Mcain was involved with, as well as his wealthy second wife, is a big strike against him. As well his tobography and geography skills about where Spain is, thinking that it is in Latin America instead of Europe is one of the very avoidable mistakes that he has made speaking. His pick for VP, On Thursday I was in Seattle listening to the Radio in my car, and heard what she said to Kati Currick, and started laughing so hard that I had to pull over. What kind of an answer is I will bring it back to you......and so on and so forth kind of an answer is that. Is this Dan Quale in Drag or something? If she has something to offer us, please let us know.I want someone who is ready to lead a county, not a bake sale. And don't give me this, she is a Govenor of a state, True she is, My metro Area is bigger than the population of the entire state, Portland, metro 1,874,449, Alaska626,932. I do not want my country to go down the tubes any more than it has. This is not good for anyone, and as I said, blatend name calling has no place here. If need be, we can agree to disagree. Fair? GO OBama!!!

Her thesis is nothing more than a study in Sociology 201. Why people think a thesis that was written 24 years ago by a 21 year old college girl has political relevance is beyond me. If you actually read it, she doesn't say anything that you won't find in a sociology texts, or published works of noted sociologists (which she references). Gimme a break already. Unless any of us understands what it was to be black, living in a white society in the 1970s by attending a conservative, ivy league school under Affirmative Action (the subject sample of the thesis), you don't really get the full impact of what she is saying.

If you read carefully, you'll find you can substitute "gay" (or any other "minority") for "black" throughout her paper and it will still make sense, at least it does to me.

Unless we have another Nancy Regan on our hands, I don't see the merrit in even having this conversation. Thankfully we haven't see anything dug up yet on what Cindy McCain wrote in college yet, oh wait, that would break the 'white privilege' rules in having that discussion. ;-)

It is nice to see someone at the age of 21 reflecting upon their world - 24 years ago.

Funny thing that Michelle Obama's 24 year old thesis is getting all this interest, while Todd Palin's much more recent membership (through 2002) in the Alaska Independence Party, which promotes the potential secession of Alaska from the United States, has pretty much become a non-issue.

Could it be that it's OK for a white guy to hold his own fringe views without them being usurped by fear-mongers, but it's not OK for black women?

I don't think either one of them are good a good choice for President, and I've said that from the beginning. And yes, experience is relevent. It's critical. So, we're voting for the lesser of two evils, once again.

And this conversation isn't helping her children...

That is the thing about sociology. You go out, gather a bunch of statistics "scientifically" and then spin the results into whatever you want. And if it proves you wrong, you scratch your chin, say "Hmmm, that is interesting", and believe that the results disproving your thesis is even more groundbreaking.

Nothing to see here, folks. Move along...

I clicked...

And heard noting of the L platform, positions, or anything of substance. Barr was just complaining because he was not invited. OK.

I like a lot of the L positions, but there a a few I don't agree with. Do I think there are valid points, yes, is Barr a credible candidate, no. But then I don't consider McCain credible either.

OK read the whole thing ...BIG DEAL when I was 21 I campaigned for ..well I confess my sins....... Ronald Freekin Reagan!!

I would love to read about the thoughts of Cindy or Todd when they were 21

But that would never happen because anything that was unflattering would disappear like the missing parts of our Presidents so called service record.

What has always interested me is that for conservatives, the past is so important when talking about Clinton and marijuana. And yet, Bush's past problems aren't in the least bit relevant.

The question--the only question for me--is how well the given politician will serve at this time. Past events are irrelevant, unless they have some connection to the present. Taking an illegal drug at a time when virtually every other young American was doing likewise is not--and I repeat not--necessarily relevant. On the other hand, a string of failed business, can be relevant. At least, I have to ask the question--did these fail because of the way the candidate managed them, and, if so, isn't likely that he will likewise do a poor job of managing his public office?

Another point about Obama's thesis--even if she had written all the radical things that her detractors claim she had, it doesn't mean that she really believed them. Anyone--and I repeat anyone--who has ever been in college is well aware that many students will slant their papers to match the professor's bias in the hopes of getting a better grade. I've even heard of writing teachers who will say that they don't teach writing. They teach students how to write the sort of papers their colleagues want to see.
