I want one too! Is this unit all plastic or is the spin-basket aluminum?
BTW Louis, I'm still working on that Tube & Bundt cake-pans thing - I spied one across the room at a sale two weeks ago and some cow got to it before I did - NIB too!!

Hmmm...they do ship overseas, and I have 220 in the washhouse now. I have to admit, it's VERY tempting, especially since spinners don't weigh much to begin with.
It's in Ruislip,, very posh neighborhood of London, I stayed there with the family of one of my dads old school chums years ago..
It's not just the 220V. Those ERRRpeans run on 50 Cycles, not 60. I think you can order a US version from a Miele dealer.

Does 2800 rpm and drum is stainless steel.
Body should be enamelled and trim plastic!
Very calm running!

Like Ralf writes, the spin basket is stainless steel, the body enemal. The plastic is from a very high quality, these Miele spindryers are from a much better quality as all the other spindryers that were sold overhere. The weight of mine is just a bit less than 15 kilos. AFAIK, these spindryers aren't made anymore. They get a bit noisier when the load is off balance, but on the whole pretty silent. I hardly use mine, but would never part with it. Since there are no electronics in it, it shouldn't be too problematic to let them run on 220V 60 cycles IMHO.

Miele apparently had two designs for their spin dryer drums. I've also seen solid, cone-shaped baskets, which had slots at the bottom of the tub.

Seller has added more snaps and revised his listing vis a vis shipping. In all fairness considering what shipping an appliance intra United States costs, can only imagine what dear price one would pay to bring that Miele to the US. That being said, the item even double boxed and well packed could go via UPS International, but that would be via air and probably VERY expensive. Do not know if any mail/parcel post between the United States and Europe/UK goes via ship so air may be the only way. Suppose one could find a importer/exporter shipping company to do the work, but again that would be pricey. On top of all the shipping costs, there would be the customs paperwork and perhaps fees.
Best way to bring an item like this spin dryer back from the UK would be to find someone either moving house or coming back from the military and had was willing to include the item in their moving container.
Depending upon weight/size, one might have been able to bring the dryer back aboard a commercial flight, stored in the luggage hold of course.

I am thinking along the same lines. Bouncing back and forth between Germany and the 'States, I miss my spin-dryer every single time I am in the US. Seems such a waste of time and energy to spin clothes dry at 1200 rpm when you could do it at 2800.
However, I do see a few problems.
One, that 2800 goes up to well over 3000 on 60 Hz. Not good, 2800 is pretty much the limit for not wearing things and the top speed the machine is balanced for (was never meant for the US market).
Two, the weight is so great and the machine so bulky that it would almost be cheaper to just buy a second seat in coach. Hmm, double free earphones.
So I couldn't use it in the US anyway.
Bummer, these Mieles are beginning to show up at the flea-markets (Oma and Tante are dying off) for "'n Äpfel und 'n Ei". Saw one the other day go for 5€, working and looked quite good.
There are spin-dryers in the US, does anyone know if they are any good? The only ones I have seen up till now were horrid stuff made somewhere in the East using a bad design from Turkey.
