Hi,
I have a miele w1065 that I'm having trouble with. The door solenoid is not working so I can't open the door. To open the front panel you need to remove 4 bolts, but that's under the door. I have power through the on off switch. Miele dosn't send service manuals to non reps. My question is how do I get to the relay which controls the door latch? I couldn't remove the detergent unit because it's fastened underneath. So getting at it from the top dosen't seem to work. Anybody experiance this.

The entire front of the machine swings open like a door, but I don't know if you will do more harm than good by going in there. Before doing anything, make sure there is no water in the drum. That will keep the door locked. Use a strong light and check for water in the drum. Just to be sure, set the control for DRAIN and listen for the pump. If you do not hear it, it might be jammed with something. If you have the owner's manual, you will find instructions in it for draining the machine through the pump strainer access panel.

It has been years since I went into one, but here is what I remember:

First, open the little access door to the pump protector. You use the little yellow tool mounted on the inside of the panel of the dispenser drawer which you should go ahead and remove. Inside the little door is a loop you can pull down to release the door. Once you have the door open, you peel the boot off from its attachment to the lip on the front of the machine.

Next, around the door, you will find the bolts that have to be removed. There is a release at the bottom of the front panel (beneath the little access door) that, when pressed, will allow the front to open.

I do not remember if you have to remove a screw at the corner of the dispenser housing or not.

I am sorry I cannot remember more, but if I do, I will add what comes to me. This should get you started.

Which is the solid door version of this washer. Isn't there some sort of "manual release" lever near the drain filter?

Mine has this. It operates rather like a bell pull, and "clink" the door opens. Methinks it was designed for cases when electric power goes and one still has wash in the machine, and or problems like yours.
