Miele W1926 manufactured in 2001 I believe but only used from 2005 thru this past year. May or may not have an electrical issue. Located in Washington state.

Am new here and don't normally post on forums. I had the Shoppers Square page pulled up and thought that was where I was posting, but guess when it asked to click on a topic, it took it here.

You mentioned there may be an electrical issue but you're not sure, why do you say that? Have you tried running the machine? What does it do or not do?

I've been on this forum since before Shoppers Square even existed, and I still can get tripped up by the category listings. If you had kept scrolling, you would have seen the "Appliance Related Wanted or Items For Sale" heading, which would place your post in Shoppers Square.
Maybe our webmaster can migrate this thread over to that forum.
Mieles are excellent machines with longevity to match. Yours is probably worth fixing if the electrical issue isn't too complex. If you can describe what the machine is or isn't doing, the experts here can offer advice for you or a potential buyer.

Thanks for the supportive posts! It is a long story-journey. I have had 40 years of Maytag top loaders, mid 60's & mid 80's versions. In '05 decided to go with a Miele front loader but wanted the Euro ones. Found this one as a floor model and started using it in '05.
Gentle use, 2 retirees with just summer yard work dirt. Due to issues related to age etc. we had discussed replacing it but not because of any problems at the time.
Around the end of Dec. toward the end of a wash cycle the machine went dead. No power issues and could not get it to turn on. Talked to Miele and were told if we didn't use an authorized service we could not return any parts and it could be the circuit board(s). We are 120 miles round trip in a rural area from an authorized dealer and at this time can't do repairs ourselves.
After much discussion, decided to buy a Speed Queen top loader (the one they are eliminating). Right now for the most part, that seemed the best decision. The Speed Queen was delivered on Jan 3rd. The day before we tried again to get the Miele to turn on. Lo and Behold, it finally did after a week. But decided to stay with the Speed Queen not knowing if there was a problem with the Miele or what it was.
I just hate the thought of dumping the Miele but options here aren't many. I thought of this website and hoped against hope there might be someone not too far away that might be interested in it.

Is *not* a very long lifespan for a Miele washer, especially of the vintage as yours.
Miele washers of old then and still are designed to give easily 15 to 20 years service with little to nil repairs. Some of us have Miele washers that are far older than 20 years old that still are working fine.
Sadly yes, Miele's call out and repair charges are dear, especially for those that live far from the core New Jersey/New York area, and or other select urban centers where the company has a large enough presence.
Equally sadly unless you are willing to do some research/diagnosing of the situation yourself, and or perhaps even the repair, the only thing for it is to deal with Miele service.
First and foremost there are other sources for Miele spare parts other than dealing with MieleUSA. Call their parts department in Princeton, NJ and after giving your washer model number ask for number to whatever part you think wants replacing. In this case it might be the circuit board. Then taking that number go to eBay and see if there is a match. You might try opening up the search to include "worldwide".
This and or plug the part number into Google and see if it comes up from a supplier in Europe or elsewhere. Unlike in USA where Miele virtually has a lock on spares, elsewhere in the world many appliance spares shops sell OEM Miele parts often for far less than what they cost in USA. This of course will vary by exchange rate and several other factors, but still...
Myself and others have purchased Miele spares from other sources and MieleUSA techs did the installation. Long as the package is sealed and the parts "new", they are covered under same warranty as if Miele supplied.
If you have the space to keep the Miele washer around for a while, I'd not junk it hastily. Especially if it can be repaired and put back into service. While the SQ is a great washer it does not have a heater and the various capabilities of Miele.
There is nothing like putting badly soiled/marked laundry into a Miele; adding a bit of detergent and setting for a "hot" or even "boil" wash. You return later to immaculate laundry without the need for chlorine bleach and many other laundry additives. For doing silks, woolens and other delicates, again you cannot beat a Miele.

I agree with that last sentence enthusiastically. My Miele is now my daily driver even though its capacity is Rollermatic small. I've changed my washing habits to accommodate it because the Miele is both so easy to use and outperforms any other washer in my collection.
There's nothing like being able to customize a program to the specific pile of laundry, load the necessary dispensers and not have to come back to the machine until the job is well done. And the only noise I hear from the basement during the cycle is when the spin ramps up to 1600rpm for the last minute of the cycle (it's sort of an "end of cycle" alarm). Yes, it takes much longer for most of the cycles but again, I've made that adjustment. My Miele is old enough that not many of the controls on it are digital and that's a plus because all these new digital controls, at least on machines made for sale in America, are designed to fail early on.

Again thanks for all the comments and info. In a perfect world and in another time & place we would attempt the above suggestions. But at this season of life and all the variables currently, we need to unload the Miele. I am mourning the heated wash and especially the gentle wash for my down and not sure how I am going to work that situation in the future altho have family members with front loaders. Will also miss the quiet as the washer is on the main floor and the Speed Queen won't win records for quietness!
Was just hoping I could find someone interested altho we are in an out of the way place and not a lot of Miele owners or those who know of it hereabouts.
