I have a W5000 Miele and recently a scrapped one the same because the baseplate was full of rust and holes. When I was scrapping it, I found that it had three friction dampers, rather than the 2 I'm used to and also that the Shipping struts that fit almost all other domestic Mieles aren't long enough to fit this machine. The plumbing is a complex maze on these, because of the steam generator and the external Powder and liquid detergent dispensers as well.

Its rated at 8kg's which would've been large capacity when the rest of the 5XXX was all 7 or 7.5kgs, but does anyone know what the drum volume is, or whether it's a little Giant with a 2200watt element and domestic programming?

There was a number of 5000 series machines labelled as 8kg which should have 60l drums IIRC.

There are several similarities on these to the LiGis - just like there are several similarities between the W1's home and LiGi versions.

However, they are significantly different in certain ways as well.
The PCBs are the same base system, but obviously upgraded and altered. The LiGis almost all have 2 heaters while the home machines have just one, so you need a way to handle that.
Bearings and suspension are rated to a higher spec. The LiGis have a deeper cabinet AFAIK, at least on the W1s.

So no. It's just the TOL machine from that time.
The current TOL machine (called "Passion" over here) has all the features as well and is pretty "full" as a result.

I just randomly checked a few WXXXX machines that came to mind and either I just remember those specific machine by coincidence, but almost all of them showed 3 dampers.

-W6000
-W5873
-W1935

Machines I checked that didn't show 3 dampers specifically:
-W4144
-W1714
-W1514

I think that anything rated above 6kg got the third damper.

By scrapped, I hope you stripped it down first

I have a W5965 and it has 3 dampers.
They are slightly better than what was on the W5873 that we had.
The 5873 would shake and rattle on our wooden floors but the 5965 is much better.

Looking at the online parts manual, they seem to have RD18FL shocks which according to the Suspa website

The damper offers an integrated Free Stroke System through which the friction force is first used at larger amplitudes. A significant performance improvement is achieved through this innovative system, for example when used in washing machines on wooden floors.

I hope that the parts were put aside as one can always find a better body, but the electronics and bits are hard to find.

Whenever I am on the GC for a holiday, I immediately scan FB market place and sigh sadly about what I cannot buy.
