Hi Guys,
Well its happened, i finally found a Miele washer toy in Australia. My local toystore just decided to start selling them all of a sudden. I was staright in there to buy one after seeing it in the catalouge.After getting him home and mucking around trying to find 'C' size batteries i finally got him working. He has four cycles (Fill, Wash, Drain, Spin). The wash speed is quite fast and it actually flings the things against the drum if you only have a few things in or don't have a lot of water in the drum. When you have the water level at MAX tho it gives them a good tumble and occasionaly does a Spin Wash similar to a new wave where it flings the clothes against the drum while still full of water. Spinning is not much faster than the wash speed but still is fast once all water has drained and items are evenly distributed. Lol, yes i do have a lot of time on my hands but i've been searching for one of these for a while so i went a bit nuts when i first got it and damn near killed it the first night! Its a good little toy and if you let it spin enough it does remove most of the water but only if you spin it constantly for like 10 mins lol.
So in addition to the toy washer i invented a toy Spin Dryer. It spins at close to 3000 rpm on full battery and is made out of two things:
- A big aerosol can cap
-A portable hand held fan
I simply made a hole in the bottom of the aerosol can cap and then took the blades of the fan and attached the cap to the litle metal bit that turns the blades. Switching on i found that the cap revs up slowly until it reaches the top speed of the motor. Adding small wet items such as kitchen paper and handkerchiefs i found that if distrubted evely then the same speeds can be acheieved. The results: A toy spin dryer that can be used in conjunction with a toy washer. The downsides of the design are that there is nothing else to channel the water that sprays out of the top, it simply flings out the top and all over you and anything in your immediate vicinity. I don't mind this however coz its totally cool and i love it.

Now for some housekeeping. I'm a 19 year old who still plays with toy washers, weird? yes. But this is the first time i have had a toy washer to play with without wasting huge amounts of water so i'm letting my childhood crawl into my young adult life a bit. Other than this bout of weirdness i am a perfectly 'normal' teenager, i'm studying Teaching at university and have an active social life plus a partner that loves me, i'm a happy guy.
